#1 Keep Dates out of your URL
Most sites will have dates in their URLs as it is a default option in most site builders, such as WordPress.
But from our own trials and errors, we can conclude that removing the dates from all posts’ URLs, will assist in boosting traffic tremendously.
And what’s even better is that this strategy can yield results in less than a month.
#2 Sidebar Links
Notice how our sidebar links contain key words that relate to the blog post.
This is one of those little tricks that not too many people know about.
A way to rank higher for relevant keywords is to include links with those words in your sidebar. For instance, if you want to rank higher for words like “architects Durban”, ensure that you have links with titles such as “How to Choose the Best Architect in Durban” etc.
Preferably these links need to link back into your site. You can also play around with changing blog and page titles so that they add to SEO.
#3 Expand off Main Keywords
This is a strategy that really works wonders.
The first thing you’ll need to do is find out which keywords you rank highest for. You can achieve this by logging into the Google Search Console. Next click on the “performance” button and you’ll be presented with all the keywords you are ranked for.
Click on the word that’s on the top of the list and go to “pages”. Here you will see the page on your website which is ranking for that particular keyword.
Ubersuggest’s site assists in finding related keywords.
Next, go to Ubersuggest, a keyword tool highly recommended by Neil Patel. Type the keyword into the search bar and results will load with related variations of your keyword.
Integrate these suggestions into the page and your search traffic should increase dramatically.
Ensure that these keywords and phrases always appear naturally in your text.
#4 Go International
One of the best ways to increase your SEO ranking and site traffic is to make your content available to a wide audience.
And an effective way to do this is to translate your content into various languages so that you can attract viewers from around the world.
A good tip is to focus on areas that do not speak any English at all, as they do not have a wide variety of content to choose from.
Ensure that the translations are of a superior standard so that you provide high-quality content in every language.
#5 Strong Brand Identity
Having a strong brand identity can really help you with your SEO rankings.
Why is this?
The more people that actually search for your brand name specifically, the better your rankings will be.
So here comes the tricky part… getting your brand out there.
Social media advertising, as well as guerrilla marketing, can help increase your brand image. Ensure that you are using your brand name as often as possible in social media and blog posts so that the name begins to stick. #6 Spruce up Your Old Content
Don’t stress about creating loads of new content. An easy way you can give your rankings a boost is by optimising your older content.
This will also ensure that your entire site is up to your current standards and that the content featured on your pages and blog posts is still relevant.
Dedicate a bit of time each week to updating your old content, and enjoy the results.
